🇮🇳 India Closes Schools in Jammu, Kashmir, and Punjab

In response to the cross-border tensions and military operations under Operation Sindoor, the Indian government has announced the temporary closure of all educational institutions in sensitive border districts:

  • Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch in Jammu & Kashmir
  • Pathankot district in Punjab (schools closed for 72 hours)

Additionally, airbases in Haryana and Punjab have been placed on high alert following drone sightings and intelligence reports indicating possible retaliatory attacks.

🇵🇰 Pakistan Declares Emergency in Punjab, Shuts Schools

On the other side, Pakistan’s Punjab province has declared a state of emergency. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that:

  • All schools, colleges, and universities across Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir will remain closed until further notice.
  • Hospitals and emergency services are now operating under emergency protocols.
  • Leaves for medical and security staff have been cancelled.

This decision came after India’s alleged airstrikes on PoJK (Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir) regions such as Muzaffarabad, Sialkot, Muridke, and Bahawalpur.
