The Future of Education in Pakistan is at pivotal juncture, characterized by both significant challenges and promising aimed at reform and modernization.

Out of School: Pakistan today faces a major problem in that the number of children not going to school is very high. About 26 million children in Pakistan are not going to school.
Gender Disparities: Girls’ education is very crucial in some areas of Pakistan, especially in Balochistan, KPK.
Environmental Factors: Severe air pollution (smog and fog) offensively causes the closure of schools in the winter season. Parents finally put their children where they can learn some skills so that they may be able to earn some money for the family.

Schools Closed in India and Pakistan Amid War Threats – May 2025 Update

Due to the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan in May 2025, both nations have shut down schools and colleges in high-risk areas. States and provinces close to the Line of Control (LoC) have declared emergencies, with authorities placing military and civilian infrastructure on high alert.

🇵🇰 Pakistan Declares Emergency in Punjab, Shuts Schools

On the other side, Pakistan’s Punjab province has declared a state of emergency. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that:

  • All schools, colleges, and universities across Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir will remain closed until further notice.
  • Hospitals and emergency services are now operating under emergency protocols.
  • Leaves for medical and security staff have been cancelled.

This decision came after India’s alleged airstrikes on PoJK (Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir) regions such as Muzaffarabad, Sialkot, Muridke, and Bahawalpur.
