Schools Closed in India and Pakistan Amid War Threats – May 2025 Update
Due to the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan in May 2025, both nations have shut down schools and colleges in high-risk areas. States and provinces close to the Line of Control (LoC) have declared emergencies, with authorities placing military and civilian infrastructure on high alert.
🇵🇰 Pakistan Declares Emergency in Punjab, Shuts Schools
On the other side, Pakistan’s Punjab province has declared a state of emergency. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that:
- All schools, colleges, and universities across Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir will remain closed until further notice.
- Hospitals and emergency services are now operating under emergency protocols.
- Leaves for medical and security staff have been cancelled.
This decision came after India’s alleged airstrikes on PoJK (Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir) regions such as Muzaffarabad, Sialkot, Muridke, and Bahawalpur.
